This privacy policy covers DigitalyStyle, the website of Digitalistyle Limited (trading as Digitalistyle Lab), a digital marketing and brand strategy studio in London. Our registered address is 100a George Street, 3302 Ten Degrees, Croydon, England, CR0 1GP. The site lives at https://digitalistyle.com, where we publish articles, prompts and resources about AI filmmaking, AI characters, storytelling and voice. It also sells digital products such as guides, prompt collections and masterclass PDFs. Here we explain what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and which rights you have. We are the data controller, and we follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Last updated: 8 October 2026.
HOW TO CONTACT US ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY
If you have a question about this privacy policy or about your data, email us at info@digitalistyle.com. We aim to reply within a few working days.
WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY
We collect only what the site needs to work and to send you the things you ask for. The sections below describe each situation.
When you read the site
When you visit the blog, our hosting provider and our analytics tools record some technical information. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay and the site that sent you here. We use it to keep the site secure and to see which articles people find useful. That helps us improve the content. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site. For analytics cookies, the basis is your consent, which the Cookies section explains.
When you join the newsletter or download a free resource
When you fill in one of our forms, we collect your name and email address. Sometimes we also note the resource you requested. We use this to send you the download and the newsletter, plus occasional emails about new articles, prompts and products. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give when you submit the form. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. Our forms and newsletters run on Flodesk (https://flodesk.com/privacy), which stores your details on our behalf.
When you buy a digital product
When you buy a product, our checkout provider collects your name, email address, billing details and payment information. It then sends us your name, email address and order details. That lets us deliver the product and keep accounting records. We never see or store your full card number. Our legal basis is the contract for the product you bought, together with our legal duty to keep financial records. Shopify (https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy) runs our checkout and processes the payment under its own privacy policy.
DIGITAL PRODUCTS AND REFUNDS
Everything we sell is a digital product that you download or access straight after payment. Because delivery happens immediately, you agree at checkout that we start delivering the product at once. You also agree that you lose the right to cancel as soon as the download or access begins. For that reason, we do not refund digital products once we have delivered them. Please read the product description carefully before you buy. If you have a question about what is included, email us first.
If a file is faulty, will not open or does not match its description, contact us within 14 days of purchase. We will replace it or put it right. This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
When you message us on social media
Some of our Instagram posts invite you to comment a keyword. You then receive a link or a resource by direct message. ManyChat sends these replies automatically. When you take part, we receive your public profile name and your message. We use them only to send you what you asked for. Our legal basis is your consent, which you show by commenting or messaging. Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and the other platforms have their own privacy policies for anything you do there.
When you comment on an article
If you leave a comment on an article, we collect the name, email address and website you enter. We also record your IP address and browser details, which help us detect spam. Your name and comment are public, and an automated service may check comments for spam.
AI TOOLS AND THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This site is about making films and characters with AI tools, so we want to say clearly how we use them. We use tools such as Higgsfield, ElevenLabs, Claude and ChatGPT to create images, voices, scripts and articles for the site. We do not put your personal data into these tools. Your newsletter details, order details and messages stay in the services named in this privacy policy. Nobody uses them to train an AI model. If you send us your own material, such as a prompt or a film for feedback, we use it only for that purpose.
The characters, faces and voices in our articles and films are AI creations, or we made them with consent. We never clone the voice or likeness of a real person without permission. We ask you to follow the same rule when you use our prompts and methods.
COOKIES
Cookies are small files that your browser stores. We use a few types.
Essential cookies make the site work, for example by remembering your preferences or keeping you logged in. These do not need consent.
Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (https://policies.google.com/privacy). They tell us how people use the site in aggregate. We use that information to decide which topics to write about next. We only set these cookies with your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through your browser settings or with an extension that blocks analytics.
Third-party cookies can come from embedded content such as a YouTube video, a Pinterest board or a Flodesk form. These behave as if you had visited that service directly. The service may then collect data about you under its own policy.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. However, blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with the services that help us run the site. Each one works under a contract and its own privacy policy. These are Showit and WordPress, which host the website, and Flodesk for forms and email. They also include Shopify for checkout, ManyChat for Instagram replies, Google for analytics, tag management and fonts, and the social platforms where we publish. Some of these companies sit outside the United Kingdom, mainly in the United States. In those cases, a recognised UK safeguard covers the transfer: the International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Your data therefore keeps the same protection it has here.
We may also share data when the law requires it, for example to answer a lawful request from a public authority.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
We keep your newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records stay with us for six years after the purchase, because UK tax law requires it. Analytics data stays in aggregated form for up to fourteen months. Comments and their details remain for as long as the article is live, unless you ask us to remove them. Finally, we keep your messages only for as long as we need them to answer you, and then we delete them.
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Under UK data protection law you have several rights. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Correcting it or deleting it is your right too. You can also ask us to limit how we use it, or object to our use of it altogether. In addition, you can ask us to send it to you or to another service in a usable format. You can also withdraw any consent you have given at any time. To use any of these rights, email us at info@digitalistyle.com. We will answer within one month. We may first ask you to confirm your identity, so your data does not reach someone else.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (https://ico.org.uk/). However, we would rather you came to us first, so we can put things right.
CHILDREN
We write this site for adults who make content and run businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
SECURITY
The site runs over HTTPS, so data travels between your browser and our servers in encrypted form. Only the people who need it can access our email, checkout and analytics accounts. Strong passwords and two-step sign-in protect those accounts. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable care. If a breach ever put your rights at risk, we would tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We update this privacy policy when the site or the services behind it change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
